Which Papers Constitute the JEE Mains?:
The JEE Mains, conducted by the National Testing Agency since 2019, is the sole entrance exam you need to take, in order to get into the best engineering, architecture and B-planning institutes in India.
The ?JEE Mains Exam ?was initially divided into two different papers, Paper 1 (B. Tech) and Paper 2 (B. Arch). As of 2020, the ?JEE Mains Exam Pattern? is now divided into three papers:? i.e. Paper I (for B.E./B.Tech.), Paper II (for B.Arch.) and Paper III (for B.Planning).
What Does Each Paper Comprise Of:
The ?JEE Mains 2020 Exam Pattern? consists of these categories in each paper: - Paper 1: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. - Paper 2: Aptitude Test, Mathematics & Drawing - Paper 2: Aptitude Test, Mathematics & Planning Based test.
Apart from this, the ?JEE Mains Exam Pattern? is presented in a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format, with a numerical value and drawing exceptions. The paper is available in two languages: Hindi as well as English. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and the maximum marks of all three paper are as follows: Paper 1: B. Tech- 300 Marks Paper 2: B. Paper 1 Pattern:

Divided between three subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), each is given a weightage of 100 marks. Each section consists of 20 MCQ’s, plus 5 questions that are meant to be answered with a numerical value. According to the ?JEE Mains Exam Pattern ?every correct answer is awarded with 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted with each incorrect response.
Paper 2 Pattern:
The ?JEE Mains 2020 Exam Pattern ?for Paper 2 consists of 20 Mathematics MCQ’s with 5 Numericals, 50 Aptitude Test questions adding up to 200 marks, and 2 drawing questions with a total of 100 marks. In Part 3 of B.Arch, questions will be based on the drawing. Candidates have to use colour pencils or crayons only on the drawing sheet. The duration of the exam is 3 hours, with an exception for PWD category: who, in the case of 40% or more disability, are given an hour of extra time.
Paper 3 Pattern:
In the 3rd Paper for B. Planning, the ?JEE Mains Exam Pattern ?consists of 20 Mathematics MCQ’s with 5 Numericals, 50 Aptitude Test questions adding up to 200 marks and 25 planning based questions worth 100 marks.
